Quick Talker 12

Description

Quick Talker is an Alternative and Augmentative Communication device, which speaks on behalf of people with nonverbal communication. It is available in three versions, which differ in the total message number and total recording time. All three versions of Quick Talker have five different message levels, three main buttons (same messages for all five levels) and extra secondary buttons (different messages in each level). Quick Talker 7 has 4 secondary buttons, Quick Talker 12 has 9 secondary buttons and Quick Talker 23 has 20 secondary buttons.

Each device includes overlays with grids to let the user write/draw or stick pictures on them. You can also create your own overlays using a computer.

Instructions for use

To record a message

1.       Set the ON/OFF switch to ON.

2.       Press the red level selection button to select a level to record on.

3.       Hold down the RECORD button located in the back of the device until the recording indication light switches on (recording mode is ON). You can now release the RECORD button.

4.       Hold down the desired message button. You will hear a beep sound.

5.       Speak clearly into the device’s microphone.

6.       Release the message button as soon as you finish your recording.

7.       Repeat steps 4-6 to record additional messages in other message buttons.

8.       When you finish recording messages, press the RECORD button once, in order to exit recording mode. The recording indication light will switch off.

To playback a message

1.       Set the ON/OFF switch to ON.

2.       Press the red level selection button to select a level (make sure the correct overlay for that level is displayed in the device).

3.       Press and release the appropriate message button to hear your recording.
