Switches are used for behavior control, development of cause and effect skills or by people with motor control difficulties for accessing the computer.
There are various types of switch in different shapes, sizes and colors. Some can be activated by very light pressure, while others require a lot of pressure. They can be activated by hand, foot, finger, chin, head etc. and each user can select a switch to suit his/her needs and abilities.
Some people prefer light pressure switches, while others prefer heavy pressure switches to avoid unwanted clicks.
Most switches, including this one, doesn’t connect directly on the computer. It connects to a computer switch interface, which can get connected to a computer through a USB port.
Pillow switch has a soft pressure surface, which makes it ideal to be used with sensitive body parts, such as the head (chin, cheek), but it can also be used with the hand or foot.
